    Siege of Theramore

Post  Saltytoes on Fri Jul 09, 2010 4:57 pm

Garrosh watched over the hill, he say a large bridge that led into the City of Theramore, he had brought a large Horde army with him and was ready to rid Kalimdor of the Alliance,
"LOK'TAR! FOR THE HORDE!" Garrosh yelled with bestial vigor
    "LOK'TAR!" His army responded
"TONIGHT! WE WILL BESIEGE THE CITY OF THERAMORE, TONIGHT WE WILL SLAUGHTER IT'S INHABITANTS! WE WILL RID KALIMDOR OF THE HUMANS ONCE AND FOR ALL!" The Warchief yelled.
His army was well-armed for a long siege, Garrosh had more than enough provisions made, he expected the siege to be long, years maybe! He was prepared to do the worst to the city..
"Commanders! Assemble!" The Warchief yelled, he wanted to discuss strategy and preperation with his commanders...

A dark, wraith-like beings rose slowly from the ground. It had died on this land, Theramore. It had been Human, then Undead, but was now... Something else...

And it would not let Theramore be beseiged. It was vagely Human, but was made of pure smoke with burning yellow eyes. These eyes stared at nothing. They stared into the space before it, not looking, yet seeing. It had died from a curse... No, an expiriment. It was a Necromancer that had made him like this. The being looked at it's hands, balling them into translucent fists.

It would face the army. It alone would save Theramore from a similar death. Behind him, the Necromancer emerged.

"Well then, my pet. It seems we have quite a day before us." The robed figure said. The wraith turned to say something, but merely arched backward as pain racked it's body.

"Foolish. I thought you would have realized after all these years that you are my creation."

The shaman flinched. The spirits were restless and even her far sight had deserted her. She looked around her for some thing to explain the unease and couldn't see anything. When she looked toward Theramore, the unease grew worse.

The pick weighed heavily in her hand and she looked at it. There was no point in mining if Theramore was in danger. She had to warn the city. But about what? What could cause even the spirits to be uneasy.

She trotted back to the harbour city and kept an eye open for anything that was out of place. Nearing the city, she saw it. A small cloud on a hill. Strange. Clouds don't normally sit on a hill. Hang on, that's not a normal cloud. It looks like it's a dust cloud. But there's no animals on that hill to make it.

The shaman shifted into wolf form and ran as fast as she could, not slowing for a second until she reached the city gates. A guard saw her and thought she was a normal wolf. He got the shock of his life when she shifted into her normal form. "I don't have time for this, human." She was panting after the run. "See the cloud on that hill over there? It's made of dust. With no animals there to make such a cloud, that can mean only one thing."

The guard looked at her, not comprehending what she was saying. "Are you dense human? There's an army up there! Let me past! I need to warn Lady Proudmoore!"

He looked at the shaman and then at the cloud and gestured to another guard. "Escort her to Lady Proudmoore and get me the lieutenant."

She smiled at the guard. "Thank you."

The shaman raced up the final stairs and paused a moment to get her breath back. "Lady Proudmoore! Theramore is in danger. Army on hill outside the city."

Jaina Proudmoore was in the middle of commissioning a new type of Warship, The Lady's Hand when the Shaman was running up to Jaina, a couple of rather rambunctious sailors stopped her.
"If ya wanted to see the lady, you shoulda made a reservation.."

The wraith had finally gotten over it's agony, and turned to face the Necromancer.

"You know the one thing I never understood about you?" It said.

"What?" The Necromancer said. His dark purple hood, etched with Scourge markings, hid all his face but aht of his wickedly grinning mouth. He lifted his hand up andwaved them at the wraith, scattering it's particles for miles, then smashing them back together again. He laughed menacingly.

"AGH! What was that for?" It yelled.

"Practice. Now what did you never understand about me?"

"I've always wondered, master, how you have eluded Mrs. Proudmoore's- Fel, Theramore's detection." The wraith said, shifting slightly to avoid another spell from the Necromancer.

"A magician never reveals his secrets." The hooded figure said, sending another spell at the wraith. It shrieked and tried to move, but it was too late. It was send, split into thousands of shadow shards, through the air towards the Horde army.

"Out of my way fools, I don't have time for this." She dropped an earthbind totem as she ran past them, slowing them enough for her to get to Lady Proudmoore unhindered.

    "Lady Proudmoore!"

She braved the glare of the male next to the Lady herself as she gathered her breath. "Horde forces. Outside the city. Heading this way." Her task done, the shaman collapsed on the dock.

Jaina saw the Shaman collapse on the floor.
"Horde? Out here? Grit, go investigate." Jaina muttered.
"Aye Mistress." Grit, Theramore's Scout, responded, as he exited the city.
    He never came back...

((Thought I might as well. Dunno if I can post here, but people say I can, so *shrug*

No one really described the weather, I believe, so I decided too. Sorry if I godmodded a little))

The sun was beaming down upon the marsh. The sky was clear, the wind calm. Blackhorn could hear the faint chirping of birds as they sang their sweet melodies off in the distance. All looked peaceful in Theramore. It was unusual. An area such as this, Blackhorn reasoned, should have been dreary and miserable. Rain should pour down, the skies should darken, and the howling of the elements should be eternal.

And yet, it was calm. Warlord Blackhorn smiled. Truly, the Earth Mother favored her children today. The Horde would prevail, and the Alliance would be driven from their lands.

    “Commanders! Assemble!”

Blackhorn heard the Warchief's cries and gave the city one last look before he turned his back on it. Garrosh Hellscream called, and Blackhorn would answer his master. He approached his glorious Warchief, who nodded as Warlord Blackhorn bowed before him.

“Warchief Hellscream. I am at your disposal.”

Those who do not learn from history are damned to repeat it. Except this time without a beastmaster, brewmaster, shadowhunter and tauren chieftain to strike first blood and lead troops into battle. Thrall left no enchanted banner nor do these forces have artifacts from the isles, a temple or lost isles of Draenor.

In layman's terms, they were screwed. It would be the job of this elf, appearing to wear the garments of a clown more than a historian to record this folly, or should he be conscripted get a closer look at the loss of life and the unrestrained destruction of the island city state he at one point called home, or perhaps a base where he could compile the learnings of this forgotten land.

Danarian closed his tome and capped his pen while raising and side stepping to avoid a rock that appeared aimlessly tossed by the primitive orcish war machines. He let out a sighed and decided it's best to move, the brutes would arrive soon and instead of asking his political views they would attempt to harm the nearly blue eyed blood elf.

Blackhorn blinked twice. A special mission? In Sen'Jin Village, which was miles to the north?

He grunted. "My men and I will need windriders, or a zeppelin...Warchief, you are certain you do not require my presence here? My forces could aid you considerably..." Blackhorn asked. He was irritated but also curious about this mission. He would do as his Warchief commanded. That didn't mean, however, that he had to like it.

((I guess it's a Shadow spell, though nothing like it exists in-game currently. The wraith's essence was split into blobs, which were sharpened and solidified. Also,it's an AoE, and would peirce anyone who didn't get outta da way.))

((where is the response from theramore's forces? no way is only a few defenders going to stop an army. BTW, my internet is best described as flaky, if I am needed and aren't around, feel free to god mode me. Just don't kill me))

The shaman regained her strength enough to sit up. She looked around and saw all the defenders waiting for an order. Although she didn't have the authority to order the attack, she could join the battle herself.

She raced to where the few defenders were fighting, dropped a few totems and prepared herself. Untrained in warfare, she was trained to heal. She would do what she could to keep the defenders alive.
